MoCo Epic MTB Ride

Those of us at the Cranky Monkey MTB races already know about this, but I thought I'd post up anyway about the MoCo Epic Ride on Sunday, October 17.
Here's info from the MORE Forums...
----------------------------
The MoCo Epic is a supported mountain bike ride (not a race) going through many of the major parks in Montgomery County. You will get a cue sheet, a GPS track if you have a GPS, spray painted signs will be on parts of the course, and volunteers will direct riders at critical intersections. Time records will be kept only for the purpose of accounting for everybody. Depending on the mileage, there will be up to 4 fully stocked aid stations.
Date: October 17, 2010
Rain Date: October 24, 2010
3 supported rides will be offered:
25-mile, 3 parks: Start from Schaeffer, Schaeffer white trail, Hoyles Mill Connector, Black Hills and return to Schaeffer
40-mile, 7 parks: start at Schaeffer Farms, Hoyles Mill, Black Hills, Little Bennett, Lower Magruder, Seneca Greenway, around Clopper Lake and back to Schaeffer via Riffleford or the new bike section of the Seneca Greenway if it is open by then.
62-mile (metric century), 9 parks: same as above, but do Muddy Branch and the C&O Canal after Seneca Lake.
You can't yet register but that should be up very shortly. Permit is being processed and preliminary approval should come early June.
A web site has been set, although it is still in the works (and doesn't work well in IE. Use Firefox): http://mocoepic.com
Questions, comments? Who's in?
PS: Too many miles for you? Volunteer, we'll need you.
---------------------------
Sounds like fun! I'm planning to attempt the 62-miler. Hopefully we can get a group of PPCC MTBers together for it.

Was planning to...
until my second cruise got shifted earlier and now I'll be bobbing around in the Gulf of Mexico for the second half of October... Very bummed, but rumor had it the cruise may have left MUCH earlier and I would have missed Seagull as well, so happy to at least get one good ride in October. As long as things go reasonably well for Shane in the SM100 this weekend, bet he will be riding this! Hope you all take some pictures!

We're planning on it
although I really want to do the Monster Mash race at Wakefield the day before....mainly so I can dress up like Wonder Woman and ride my bike :o).

Other MTBers?
Cheryl, Shane, Theresa, Mark, Kelley...you guys are all up for doing this ride, right? :-)
