The REST of 4-lane Rt.9 is OPEN!!!

WOOHOO!!! I'm probably behind the curve on this, but I just got word that the "rest" of 4-lane Rt.9 is OPEN. It's about freaking time! It's been 99% finished for about 2 years.
Some of you may never use it...but it will make life a LOT easier for anyone going to/from Martinsburg and getting over to I-81 (or getting to Charles Town from I-81).

Journal
Yesterday journal had an article about some cyclist traveling the path. About 10 miles one way there is no relief spots on the path but many roads we ride don't either.

Yep, and it should cut down
Yep, and it should cut down on the back ups in Kearneysville. The bike path is pretty cool also, just watch for the road crossings. It's a great place for new riders to get out and try out cycling. It is about a 20 mile round trip from one end to the other.

Are there any hills in WV?
Jeff, from our home in Quail
Jeff, from our home in Quail Ridge, then doing the entire bike path, and back to home, is 22.4 miles, according to Rachel's el-cheapo trip computer. A guy in the paper mentioned that up/back was about 35 miles. No clue where he got those figures, but he's flat-out WRONG. :)
What's really nice about that new Rt.9 path is that there isn't any traffic from Opequon now, and that part of the road (passing Camp Nakeeta) is now part of the bike path.
The traffic crossings along the road can be dangerous, so take extra care when crossing. People just fly up and down those roads...
