2011 Wrap Up

OK, so I'm stealing the idea for this thread from bicycling.com.  Now that the year is wrapped up, what is everyone's mileage totals for 2011?

4,808 for me - this includes two trainer rides.  If you take those out it would be 4771 real outdoor miles.

6500-7000 Miles

About 60-65% of that was from my commute to work. Not sure on the exact mileage, because my bike computer stopped working on my trip to the Blue Ridge. I might have a hard time hitting the same number of miles this year, I was pretty fortunate with the weather in 2011.

Excellent!

I wish I could commute more by bike. Occasionally I have driven out to the W&OD and have ridden the rest of the way in, but it just takes too long to do that frequently.

You should consider getting a Garmin Edge. If for no other reason, it makes tracking one's statistics very easy. I think the new Garmin 200 can be had for the reasonable cost of $149. If you want to track your heart rate of course, you would need to get another model. The Garmin Edge 500 seems to be exceedingly popular nowadays as it can handle both heart rate and power, as well as distance, time and speed.

Ummm, about 60 miles. :X

Approx. 3K

I didn't always use my Garmin- in fact I only had one mountain bike ride that I used it on, and I'm not sure how the trainer miles really transfer, but here it is:

2,945 miles and about 2600 were actual road miles. That included about 120,000 feet of climbing! Sure that's nothing compared to Shane's elevation gain for the year, but not bad for me.

Like Jeff said, it was a great year of cycling. I really appreciate the company from so many club members over most of these miles, and of course all of the cycling QT I put in with my husband Shane! Looking forward to another great year of cycling, and hope to put in a few more miles on the trails this year (mountain bike, that is).

milage data

i only accrued about 1500 miles this year.that was mostly mnt bike milage, with some road bike.
although i dont use a garmin,my car odometer is fairly accurate and i am confidant i drove at least that far.
milage on the actual bikes:
mnt bike-probably around 6
road bike-about 9.(cant be sure but thats about how far i followed a car with a road bike i liked on it.

going to try and double my miles this year if my car can hold out.

(i feel i need to be completely honest about the mnt bike milage.i walked about 5.9 miles of it,but it was VERY tough terrain.(the tow path freaks me out!)
the commraderie and encouragement i experienced in that .1 of a mile was enough to last me a lifetime!god i love this sport!!!

I didn't keep a strict

I didn't keep a strict record of my mileage this year, but I did ride enough miles to look back on the year and say "that was a great year of cycling". In years past I have tried to hit a certain target of mileage and goals, but it was fun this year to just ride whenever I could and enjoy every mile. To me that is a successful year and I hope this coming year is just as fun.
