New Years Day Ride

Folks--New Years Day Ride--the weather report has gotten much better--temps in the 50s, mostly sunny. Let's meet at the Antietam Visitor at 11:30, and start the ride at 11:40. The whole ride is about 18 miles, with an earlier bail- out.

Good Morning, folks!
The 2012 New Years Day Ride will start at the Antietam Battlefield Visitors Center. Let's meet at 11:30, with a start time of 11:40.
Turns are below--Print this & bring it with you:
Start--At the Antietam Battlefield Visitor's Center.
Exit the parking lot, left on Dunker Church Road to Route 65
Left on Route 65 toward Sharpsburg
Right on Chapline--be careful on the bridge--metal grate
Right on Mondell up the hill--this is a long leg
(as you enter a downhill wooded stretch...)
Bear left on Bowie--Careful--Bowie tends to having loose gravel!
Cross the small bridge at the bottom of Bowie
Bear left on Taylor's Landing Road
Right on Tommytown Road--the big barn uphill to the right is no longer red.
At the "T" take Tommytown to the right--Houser is to the left.
Right on Bakersville Road
X Route 65 to Keedysville Road--This is the bail-out point. You can go right on 65 to return to the Antietam Visitors Center.
Stay on Keedysville Road (Bear right at University to stay on Keedysville)
At Route 34, go right towards Sharpsburg
As you head downhill after passing the large cemetery, and enter Sharpsburg, be careful--you need to turn right on Route 65
Route 65 will take you back to Dunker Church Road, and the Antietam Visitors Center
