Poker Run Fundraiser for Tour de Cure
Submitted by jhughes on Sun, 2012-01-29 13:40.All,
I am proposing doing a Poker Run to raise money for our Tour de Cure team. Poker runs are wildly popular among motorcycle groups, but there is no reason we couldn't do this as a bicycling effort.

Riding this week?
Submitted by jhughes on Sun, 2011-12-25 19:21.Anybody else off this week between the holidays want to put some miles in?

Day off rides Mon & Tues (12/12 & 12/13)
Submitted by jhughes on Sat, 2011-12-10 20:17.I am going to be working from home Monday & Tuesday and am probably going to sneak out for a ride or two. I think the warmest time to ride would be between 1 & 3, but on Monday I have an appointment at 2:15. So on Monday I plan to try and ride at 11am, on Tuesday I plan to ride at 1.
I'll probably do 25-32ish miles, leaving from Washington High School unless anyone has other suggestions.
Post up, call, email, or text me if you're interested in either day or both.

Rolling Ridge this Saturday (11/26)??
Submitted by jhughes on Tue, 2011-11-22 13:36.The weather looks great again for Saturday with temps reaching close to 60! Is anybody interested in going out to Rolling Ridge sometime Saturday? I'm not 100% sure on my schedule, but I think 1:00 would be ideal for the temperature.

Day off or Hooky Ride
Submitted by jhughes on Wed, 2011-11-09 14:15.I have to work from home tomorrow (Thursday 11/10) to get the kids to/from school. I am thinking about doing a lunch time ride if anyone else is off, or retired, or wants to play hooky.

Anybody want to ride Saturday Afternoon (10/22)?
Submitted by jhughes on Fri, 2011-10-21 23:19.I'm looking for some company tomorrow afternoon around 3. About 25-30 miles.

Another Poker Night
Submitted by jhughes on Mon, 2011-10-17 14:38.We are having another poker night on Saturday night. This is actually a re-schedule of the one we posted last month without noticing that is was the day before the Backroads Century. Since that event lacked any interest in attendance we pushed it back a month.
Who: Josh & Ellen Hughes
What: Invite you to Poker Night
When: Saturday, October 22nd, 7:00PM

Sunday Ride
Submitted by jhughes on Fri, 2011-09-30 17:32.I thought I saw somewhere that someone was looking to go for a ride Sunday afternoon 1 or 2ish, but now I can't find it, maybe it was a dream. Anyway I would like to go out for an hour or two Sunday afternoon if anyone is interested.
Some Team Integrity folks are doing a ride, but it's in the morning & I'll be in church.

Le Tour de Bakerton Glasses
Submitted by jhughes on Mon, 2011-07-18 12:04.Johnny is getting anxious to order the Tour de Bakerton beer glasses to hand out at the end of the season. I have attached 5 different logo ideas to the original TdB thread, and will include them below. Take a look at them and let's decide on one quickly. (The last one is designed to be two sided with the text on the opposite side of the logo. We could do that with any of the logos &/or font texts shown in the previous 4 images.)

Rides this week
Submitted by jhughes on Mon, 2011-06-20 01:18.Ellen is out of town on business, so I hope to get in a ton of miles this week.
Monday evening I'm tied up so I am planning to sneak out after lunch 1:00ish. If anyone is interested (and home) I will be riding 30ish miles in the Summit Point area.

Saturday Dawn Ride 6/11
Submitted by jhughes on Fri, 2011-06-10 01:32.Any early birds out there? My schedule doesn't look to leave any room for riding expect for early before the kids Tball game. I'm looking for some company on a 31ish mile ride from Washington High School starting at 6:30. (or meeting anyone at the end of Huyette Rd at 6:45.) Hope to be back around 8:30, so I'm shooting for about a 16mph pace.

Here is the route: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/361559 26-27 miles from my house. Probably 16-17 mph.

No Drop Rides
Submitted by jhughes on Wed, 2011-03-09 03:42.Spring is almost here and I think a lot of us have spring fever. With the clocks springing forward this weekend more & more rides will be starting up.
I'd like to take an opportunity to remind everyone about the responsibility to specify details when posting a ride. Pace, distance, terrain,

Super Bowl 45 Party
Submitted by jhughes on Thu, 2011-01-20 04:23.Are you ready for some football? Come join all your rowdy friends at our Super Bowl party!

Pennsylvania Perimeter Ride Against Cancer
Submitted by jhughes on Mon, 2010-11-29 14:53.This ride looks like fun and is for a good cause. I just found it, am considering it, but haven't talked it over with Ellen. The course looks tough, but so is cancer. It's probably worth the suffering if it can help end someone else's.

Football Pool
Submitted by jhughes on Wed, 2010-08-11 18:25.(Facebook friends I apologize for the double whammy.)
If anyone is interested in playing in a free football pool got to http://football.joshhughes.com and sign up. This is not "fantasy" football, simply pick which team you think will win each game. Pick right and you get a point. 256 games (points) throughout the entire season. It's a fun way to get excited about other games besides the game your favorite team is playing.

Hookey Ride

Western Maryland Wheelmen Charity Road Ride
Submitted by jhughes on Tue, 2010-07-20 18:18.I was trying to plan out the rest of my season once I get back on the bike. The club from my home area is having their 3rd Annual Charity ride on August 28th and I wasn't really going to mention it, but members are doing rides even farther away so I figured "What the heck?"

My First Pedal & Paddle Shop Ride
Submitted by jhughes on Sun, 2010-05-30 15:46.Well, I set my alarm and got up at 5:00 this morning to get to Shepherdstown by 6:00 for the weekend ride from the Pedal & Paddle. I am not sure if it qualifies as epic, but it was certainly big for me because it contained a lot of firsts. Other than the few miles in Shepherdstown and out to Sharpsburg most of the ride was on roads I knew from map & stories, but had never ridden.

Riding this Long Weekend
Submitted by jhughes on Fri, 2010-05-28 18:43.Anybody who isn't going out of town for the holiday want to do some riding this weekend? I have the kids when Ellen is working all day Saturday and form 11-6 on Monday.
I was hoping to do a longer ride sometime Sunday. 40,50,60 miles. Pace & terrain doesn't matter too much to me. Maybe the Tour
of Jefferson County. I can probably ride anywhere, but the closer (less driving) the better.
