A year and a half ago, I was getting bored riding my hybrid on the streets within my subdivision. I'd made a few excursions out onto the county roads, but was terrified by the traffic, and motorist's general lack of respect, if not downright hostility. I had taken up cycling to keep my wife company as she was looking for non-impact exercise, and didn't want to find myself dropping the sport out of boredom.

I'm planning a hilly ride from my house tomorrow morning around 9-10 am. Somewhere in the 30-40 mile range, and possibly a similar ride to the Triplets.

In preparation of the two day MS:150 bike ride on the 19th of August, this event is to simulate the mileage and impact on the body of back-to-back 75 mile days. The first route will be a modification of the Rich Rau Ride. Those who have ridden it will attest to its beauty. The second leg has yet to be established and is open to suggestions. Feel free to ride one or both of the legs.

Weather permitting, I'll be heading out Sunday morning for a 60 mile ride through Williamsport & Hancock before looping back to into WV. Looking to leave no later than 8:00AM. This is a cool ride, using the eastern section of the WM Rail Trail, before returning to WV and some "interesting" back roads.

Route: Potomac River Ramble

I'm planning a ride for Saturday, June 18 at 1:00pm from my house. Here's the description from facebook:

A bike ride with enough climbing to appeal to all the pain-seekers in the club. The ride features four categorized climbs during 3 trips (hence the name Triplets) over North Mountain, and a scenic spin through Back Creek Valley to loosen the legs prior to the killer finishing climb that averages over 9%!. Refreshments and a cookout await the survivors.

I hope a lot of you will attend.

If anyone is riding the CASA River Century instead of Rich Rau, I'm looking for someone or a group to ride with. Not looking to kill it, but would like to average 16-17 mph.
